We seek a post-doctoral researcher to join a research project on Collective Privacy Management for Online Social Networks. The goals of this project are to: 1) improve the theoretical understanding of information privacy in the context of online social networks; 2) assess the efficacy of various privacy intervention strategies developed or proposed by the technologists and regulators; and 3) study strategic management of organizational privacy practices.
This position is in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at the Pennsylvania State University. This is a full time, 12-month, non-tenure position, renewable dependent upon performance. Start Date is immediate. We would prefer a commitment of 2 years, negotiable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Develop and carry out experiments and surveys to test the hypotheses underlying user privacy behaviors and/or organizational privacy practices in the context of social media.
-Publish research results at top-tier academic journals.
-Help manage graduate and undergraduate research students.
Desirable qualifications:
-Ph.D. (or soon-to-be Ph.D.) in management information systems, industrial/organizational psychology, social psychology, organizational behavior, communication, or human-computer interaction.
-Expertise in quantitative research methods.
-Experience and enthusiasm for communicating research results at scientific conferences, and publishing research results at top-tier academic journals.
