    Dear all,

Hope most of you are enjoying this new semester.

I am planning to help a student to do an independent study on human resource management.  I wonder if you have any good experiences or advice on how to do it. It will be greatly appreciated if you can share your sample syllabus or relevant materials.

Thank you so much for your time and help.

    Hi Webster,

I typically assign my HR students to choose a business that they can have access to, they have to do an environmental analysis (internal an external) and identify a number of challenges (up to five) that can be solved via HR practices. Then they have to offer changes in HR related practices (Recruitment and selection, Training and Development, Rewards and Compensation) to solve/face the challenges identifies. If  it sounds like something you could use, let me know and I can send you the rubric I use to grade them and the instructions. Hope it helps!

    Dear Dr. Gomez,
I have read the suggestion you gave to Webster about the course of HRM and I think your idea is incredibly interesting. If you do not mind, I would be grateful if I could receive a copy of your material.

Thanks a lot for sharing this inspiring idea.
    Sincerely,
    Marcello Russo
