  • 1.  Divergent thinking tests for entrepreneurs

    Posted 12-02-2013 12:14
    Colleagues,

As an external service project, I am assisting a non-profit with some staffing issues. They are interested in using divergent thinking tests to screen candidates for an entrepreneurship training program. I know little about such tests.

I would appreciate references to research evidence addressing whether divergent thinking tests are associated with entrepreneurship-related behaviors or job performance of entrepreneurs.

I would also appreciate references to divergent thinking measures, preferably free measures.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Colleagues,

I would say that some creativity tests might do the job! But I don't undersand the purpose of the program. I believe that people who possess divergent thinking are entrepreneurs by nature! They mioght need help in developing business models, for instance. I also believe and have debated the issue of the purpose of entrepreneurship programs is to "activity" people's devergent thinking skills! Like Edwards Deming and others, I believe people are born with divergent thinking skills, among others, but then we go to school!

    Thanks,

    Ivan
