    Hello,

I am considering putting together symposium for AoM this year with the general topic of multilevel modeling to more accurately understand core psychological processes across cultures. There have been some excellent advances in multilevel analysis in recent years and the application to international or cross-cultural issues in Organizational Behavior (OB) are quite apparent. I am contacting specific individuals, but would also like to open this invitation to the list in the interest of casting a wide net.  I have listed potential themes (due to be altered due to submissions) in order of preference below:

    • 1       The impact of cultural value dimensions (such as Hofstede, GLOBE, Trompenaar, etc.) on motivational needs at work: Using Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling to identify contingencies.
    • 2       The impact of cultural values dimensions on fundamental psychological processes at work: Using Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling to identify contingencies.
    • 3      The Impact of cultural value dimensions on the workplace: Using Multilevel Modeling to identify contingencies.

As you can see, I'd like to extend our understanding of the applicability of theoretical core concepts in OB into the international domain by way of cutting edge statistical approaches to aid understanding. The current study I will be offering involves multilevel SEM applied to individual, cross-national, and world-wide regions to understand differences in the functioning of a theoretical model of basic human needs.

Please contact me directly (monnotmj@plu.edu) if you are interested. Provide the following information in your email (an attached manuscript if you have one too, but I don't expect that to be high likelihood):

    1.            Title of the project
    2.       Abstract
    3.       Stage of completion
    4.       Findings or preliminary findings
    5.       Explanation, if necessary, of how your study might fit the content themes above.

    Thanks so much,
    matt
