The Department of Management, Marketing, and Information Systems at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) invites applications for a tenure-track position in management beginning fall 2014. Applicants must provide excellent customer service. The preferred specializations are Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or Labor Relations. The position can be at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates who have an interest in and exhibit the qualifications to lead the Department will be considered for the Chair position. Requirements: Candidates should hold a relevant doctoral degree from AACSB-accredited institution. The successful candidate will join a college that is committed to students' excellence, innovative and engaged instruction combined with scholarly productivity.
- Doctorate in designated business areas or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. - ABDs may be considered for the Assistant Professor position; but must provide strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed prior to arrival on campus. - Candidates in dissertation stage will be considered if the degree completion date is expected to be close to the appointment date. - Candidates must demonstrate the potential to pursue a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, productive research, and active service. - Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - Additional Qualification: - A proven record of scholarly research and evidence of teaching excellence and strong service experience
Department Chair Additional Qualification: Applicants interested in consideration for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Management, Marketing, and Information Systems must meet the following required qualifications: - An earned doctorate in Organizational Behavior or Human Resource Management/Labor Relations from an accredited university: - Eligibility for tenure and appointment at the associate professor rank or higher; - A record of successful teaching and significant intellectual contributions; - Familiarity with business AACSB accreditation standards and processes. Progressive leadership responsibilities are desirable, as are certifications appropriate to the discipline. The individual should possess interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with university and external constituents, leadership qualities, collegiality, vision and negotiating skills to maintain and expand the department's potential. |
Preferred candidates will also have relevant professional experience and professional certification. Candidate will be expected to teach both on-campus and online courses. |
