    Hi Bard,

     

    This may not be exactly what you are looking for but the hindrance stressors scale from Cavanaugh et al. (2000) has an item that asks about red tape, among other things.  It doesn't capture just reporting practices and red tape but does capture perceptions of demands that constrain or hinder one's ability accomplish work.   I hope that helps and good luck on the search!

    Dear all

    I'm looking for a measure that taps employees' and managers' perception of unnecessary repoting paractices, filling in files, ticking of boxes etc. I'm not looking for mesures of job autonomy or perceived job control, as you can perceive high levels of both of those and still experience that too much time and energy are spent on reporting purposes and red tape.
