Ethical Leadership Postdoctoral Fellow
Job Description:
The Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business (CCAL), in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join its team of scholars researching ethical leadership. The Fellow's major task for the duration of the fellowship will be to collaborate on the Centre's major research project, the development of a new measurement of ethical leadership. The measurement will be a philosophically informed measurement of ethical leadership, built from a large meta-analysis of the diverse literatures bearing on this topic. The work on this measurement will be performed by an interdisciplinary team led jointly by Dr. Piers Steel, Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics and Distinguished Research Chair in Advanced Business Leadership, Dr. David G. Dick, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Fellow of CCAL, and former Chair in Business Ethics, and Dr. Justin Weinhardt, Assistant Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics. The successful candidate will collaborate with Dr. Steel, Dr. Dick, and Dr. Weinhardt on all aspects of the development of this new ethical leadership measurement and should have expertise in psychometrics and meta-analysis, with expertise in moral philosophy or moral psychology desirable.
The fellow will be expected to engage in full-time research activities, with opportunities for co-authorship of papers stemming from work on the ethical leadership measurement and from other projects.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a PhD no later than January 1, 2014 in psychology, philosophy, management, or a related field. Applicants will be considered provided they can demonstrate expertise in psychometrics or meta-analysis, with background in philosophical ethics, moral psychology, or ethical leadership desirable. Experience in multiple areas is an asset.

Teaching:
Should the fellow be interested in them, the Haskayne School of Business (HSB) also offers a variety of teaching and lecturing opportunities and will arrange such opportunities so as not to interfere with research productivity. Fellows will be able to earn additional income if they choose to teach an undergraduate or MBA course relevant to their background, and will be integrated into Executive Education courses where feasible.
