    Hi Everybody,

Any input is appreciated: We need a feedback seeking scale that includes at least 4 items capturing how frequently employees ASK (not monitor) their SUPERVISORS about:
    - Task or technical expectations (not social or value expectations)
    - Feedback on task or technical performance (not overall performance)

None of the following scales seem to satisfy these requirements:
    - Ashford, 1986
    - Morrison, 1993
    Callister, Kramer, & Turban, 1999
    - Parker & Collins, 2010
    - Lam, Huang, & Snape, 2007
    Chen, Lam, Zhong, 2007
    - VandeWalle et al., 2000
    Krasman 2010
    - Tuckey, Brewer, & Williamson, 2002

    Thanks
    Salar

You might look at the one used by Nifadker and colleagues in a study of newcomers in a recent
    AMJ....2012.  Good luck!

    Dear Sue

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate, if you and others can answer this follow up question:

I looked up the article you mentioned and found the following measure.

How frequently do you ask your supervisor for feedback about your ...
    1. overall job performance
    2. technical aspects of the job
    3. values and attitudes of the firm
    4. role expectations
    5. social behaviors
    6. future success in the company

However, our study is not about newcomers and we suspect that tenured employees will rarely need to ask for feedback on items other than 2 (which concerns day-to-day performance) and perhaps sometimes 4 and 5.

In addition, in our model we are only interested in seeking feedback from supervisor about task performance. Our hypothesis is that feedback seeking communities conscientiousness of employees.

Is there any measure that captures feedback seeking on day-to-day task performance?

    Thank you again

    Sincerely,

    Salar
