Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to invite you to the OB-sponsored PDW:
Increasing awareness of the brand that is you:
Disseminating and promoting your research globally
Time: Friday August 9, 11:15 – 1:15
Place: Dolphin Asia 2
Relatively few academic thought leaders translate their expertise for the general public. Yet who better to inform the public about business trends, practical theories, and the latest empirical findings? Having impact in the business world-benefiting both faculty and their institutions-can and should be a goal of our profession, to be encouraged in multiple forms. Nor is it necessary to do less rigorous research, or spend significantly less time on traditional academic pursuits, in order to have that impact.
In this hands-on workshop, faculty will have the opportunity to learn from successful international crossover academic authors from IMD, a top-ranked global executive education and MBA institution with a strong research base, as well as top business writer/editors (one current and one long-time editor at Harvard Business Review, the latter now specializing in business books) and a PR professional who work exclusively with faculty to translate, disseminate and promote their research and thought leadership.
Each panelist will describe their approach and offer practical advice. But the key take-away from this PDW will be a draft plan that each attendee will create, based on your own research, to bring that research to a broad business audience. You will be invited to share the plan with colleagues and a panelist, receive feedback and guidance, and leave ready to take the next critical step in building your own global brand as a knowledge leader.
See you there!
Best,
Suzanne
