Good Morning!
I am new to this listserv and was curious about getting some help. I'm working on dissertation ideas and would like to incorporate a construct related to the notion of sharing credit and taking blame. People who engage in this type of activity should be considered by their coworkers to be better to deal with (i.e., easier to getting along with) and potentially be evaluated more favorably by supervisors.
So far I have been unable so far to find a scale that measures this type of behavior. I've found a few mentions of the idea in a few journals, but in each case it is always a scenario situation where an evaluator ranks how well the person in the scenario shared credit or accepted blame. I have yet to find anything that would measure this idea more generally. As yet, I have had no luck searching for a measure or items in a validated and published scale.
My chair has suggested that I post my request for help on the this listserv. I appreciate any insight. Thank you for your time.
To me, this idea of sharing credit and accepting blame seems pretty fundamental and I'm surprised that I haven't found something more concrete about it. Perhaps there is a different name for this construct that I'm not considering?
Best regards,
Ben
