    POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

     

    Description:

    The field of study will be leadership and the development of character.  A PhD degree is required. PhD applicants must have completed work on their PhD.  An excellent command of verbal and written English is a must, as are a positive attitude and outstanding interpersonal skills.

     

    Candidates must possess superior empirical research skills in business as demonstrated by prior research projects, doctoral work, publications, or employment experience.

     

    Interest in and achievements relevant to the Institute for Leadership's mission and the primary research focus of the position must be clearly articulated in application materials to be considered. CVs will not be considered without an accompanying statement.

     

    Major/Essential Functions:

    The post-doctoral research fellow will work collaboratively with the Executive Director of the Institute for Leadership, affiliated faculty and PhD students, and industry partners to conduct research related to the development of character in business leadership.

     

    The post-doctoral research fellow will work proactively and independently to design and conduct empirical research and to analyze and synthesize results, while also functioning as part of various research teams affiliated with the Institute for Leadership. Duties will also include writing and collaborating on scholarly papers, research reports, white papers, and conference materials. The fellow will proactively communicate research findings verbally and in writing to team members, collaborators and funders, and meaningfully contribute to the Institute's efforts to apply, adapt and comment upon such research for the benefit of student, faculty and public audiences. Planning, conducting and contributing appropriately to scholarly conferences, panel presentations, and academic exchanges will be an important aspect of the position.

     

    Salary Grade:

    Full-Time, for a 1 year period.  Salary to be negotiated after consideration.

    (2) A 2-3 page statement describing the applicant's research interests and experience, their reasons for seeking a research position with the Institute for Leadership, and how their academic background and research experience matches the interests of the Institute.

    (3) A representative publication or manuscript reflecting substantial authorship by the applicant, preferably one with minimal outside editing.
