The Making Connections Committee is organizing a Professional Development
Workshop (PDW) for the 2013 Academy Meeting in Orlando. The goals of the
session are: (1) to provide insights about how to build a
microcommunitypeople who share a research focus and who self-organizeand
(2) to help burgeoning microcommunities gain momentum.
The PDW will include an informal networking session for representatives of
different microcommunities to tell others about their growing community,
whether you are just beginning to get organized or whether you are part of a
more-established microcommunity. If you would like your microcommunity to be
represented in this networking session, please contact Lisa Leslie
(
lmleslie@umn.edu) by January 10. Include in the email a short description
of your microcommunitys focus and prior organizing activities (e.g.,
meeting, newsletter) if relevant.
