O’Bleness Professor of Entrepreneurship

The College of Business at Ohio University invites applications for
the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship (CE) with the
possibility of also serving as the O'Bleness Endowed Chair of
Entrepreneurship. We seek a dynamic, energetic and collegial director
who will be the champion for the CE and its related academic programs
(i.e., the Entrepreneurship Major, the Entrepreneurship Certificate,
the various entrepreneurship-related student organizations, and
related research initiatives). S/he will assist in academic planning;
teach classes within the various academic programs; cultivate
relationships in the College and University; manage the academic
budget; and collaboratively define/maintain the quality of students’
experiences within the CE.
To be considered for the O’Bleness Professorship position, the ideal
candidate must have a research background commensurate with
appointment to the rank of full professor and as an endowed chair. We
seek someone with an academic emphasis (teaching and research) in
entrepreneurship.
The CE is an interdisciplinary center that works with all of the
Colleges in the University and is a joint venture between the College
of Business (www.cob.ohio.edu) and the Voinovich School of Leadership
and Public Affairs (www.ohio.edu/voinovichschool/index.cfm). The
University is very committed to assisting high growth entrepreneurial
firms, with an emphasis on firms in the Appalachian region. We have
developed and support several early stage equity funds and the third
largest rural angel network in the country.
