Caucus Organizers: Hazel-Anne M. Johnson, Rutgers University Anne-Laure P. Winkler, Rutgers University Caucus Presenters: Chak Fu Lam, University of Michigan Perspective: what current research says about human energy, what strategies employees use to regulate energies [and why these strategies are often ineffective], and how human energy can contribute to firm sustainability. Marco Guerci, Politecnico di Milano Perspective: Organizing for sustainability. Sustainable human resource management. Stakeholder management. Ryan Hammond, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Perspective: Sustainable entrepreneurship. Industrial Relations, with focus on benefits to the individual and not solely firm performance, and to the role of the institutional framework/unions. Jeffrey Robinson, Rutgers University Perspective: Social entrepreneurship - how can social entrepreneurs build human/social sustainability into their businesses? Maurizio Zollo, Bocconi University Perspective: How do we practice sustainability? Purpose of Caucus: With this caucus, we intend to connect multiple levels of research (individual, organizational, and societal) across multiple disciplines (e.g., human resource management, industrial-organizational psychology, industrial relations, sociology, ethics, strategy) in order to contribute rigorous and relevant research in the area of human and social sustainability. We see this caucus as the start of a dialogue that will explore new research ideas and/or opportunities for collaboration. We are inviting a few experts from various disciplines to discuss the topic from their perspective; however, the caucus format is intended to be a conversation rather than a tightly structured presentation. Our caucus is intended to be an 'informal' event that creates a 'sense of community' around our topic. We hope to see you there! Caucus Abstract: Human/Social Sustainability: What Is It?
