The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Management Studies in the area of Human Resource Management at either the Instructor or Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2015. Approximately 2000 undergraduate and 80 graduate students are currently enrolled in the school's programs. Both the undergraduate and graduate programs are AACSB-International accredited. There are about 50 full-time faculty members in five academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance and Management Information Sciences, Marketing, and Management Studies (which includes Human Resources and Organizational Management). JOB TITLE: Instructor/Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management (Instructor if ABD)
APPOINTMENT START DATE: Appointment begins August 24, 2015; classes begin August 31, 2015

JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-Time, 9-month tenure-track position in the Department of Management Studies in the area of Human Resource Management.
DUTIES: The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching, research and service. The individual will teach the undergraduate core course in Human Resource Management and elective courses in the area of Human Resource Management (employee training and development and another human resource domains), and possibly a graduate Human Resource Management course. The creation of knowledge in the area of Human Resource Management resulting in its dissemination through the publication of refereed articles in recognized journals, the presentation of papers, other acceptable channels and through one's teaching area is required. The individual will be responsible for advising undergraduate students and working with student organizations and is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations.

Required Qualifications:
- Applicants must be ABD (with Ph.D., final dissertation defended by December 1, 2015) from an AACSB-International accredited school or major state or provincial university with a curricular emphasis in the field of Human Resource Management. The applicant must have completed a minimum of two years in residency during his/her program.
- Evidence of potential for scholarship is essential. The applicant must demonstrate empirical research skills appropriate for, and a commitment to developing, a research stream in the field of Human Resource Management. Applicants holding a Ph.D. or D.B.A. must have published refereed articles in journals in Human Resource Management averaging one refereed journal publication for each complete year post-terminal degree.
- Applicants must exhibit abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation in the area of Human Resource Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an AACSB-International accredited institution or major state or provincial university in Human Resource Management or related field with substantive coursework in Human Resource Management.
- Demonstrate ability to teach Introductory Human Resource Management and Human Resource Management elective courses at the undergraduate/graduate level to a diverse group of students.
- Academically qualified as per LSBE's definition (visit https://lsbe.d.umn.edu/dean/aqpqdefinition.php).
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching methods in a diverse classroom.
- Applicants must exhibit a willingness to fulfill service responsibilities to students, colleagues, the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations.
