    With apologies for cross-posting.

We look forward to seeing you all in Boston, and hope that you can join us for this workshop:

    Saturday, Aug 4 2012 12.30 - 4:00 PM - Westin Copley Place, Great Republic

Measurement is one of the principal activities of science (DeVellis, 2003). Invalid or inaccurate measurement undermines our ability to understand phenomena and can potentially lead to misleading or incorrect conclusions. This workshop aims to address problems in scale development by helping participants develop validated scales rather than simply teaching the theory. There will be some coverage of the theoretical underpinnings of scale development but the session will principally centre around the practicalities of scale development; for example the practicalities of establishing content validity.

The latter part of the workshop will be hands-on. If you are working on a scale development project, please bring it with you. If not, don't worry - we will be bringing some hands on scale development activities with us.

We very much look forward to seeing you on Saturday 4th.

    Presenters/Facilitators:

    Stephanie Castro, Florida Atlantic University
    Claudia Cogliser, Texas Tech University
    Lucy Ford, Saint Joseph's University
    Ben Hardy, Open University
