    ***Our apologies for cross-posting***

    Dear Colleagues,

We are organizing a symposium on the health-related implications of
onboarding and newcomer wellbeing for the SIOP 2013 conference and
would like to invite interested presenters to join our session. Our
research focuses on how the normative context into which newcomers are
socialized as well as the socialization process itself may affect
    newcomers' health and emotional wellbeing.

We see presenters in our symposium taking any one of the following directions:

    - Examining how the socialization context and/or process affect
negative emotional states (e.g., stress, anxiety, depression),
burnout, as well as any number of risky behaviors at work or away from
    it.
    - Examining the mechanisms by which onboarding affects such outcomes.
    - Examining individual differences or various contextual
conditions that might moderate the effects of onboarding and
entry-related stressors on newcomer wellbeing and health.
    - Exploring how alternative onboarding strategies may interact
with team or unit norms/climate in affecting health-related outcomes.

If you have ongoing research that may fit any of the above themes and
are interested in contributing to the SIOP symposium, please email
Peter Bamberger (peterb@post.tau.ac.il) or Songqi Liu (sul45@psu.edu)
with a description of your potential contribution.

The submission deadline for the SIOP 2013 meeting is September 12th.
We are requesting that interested participants forward a short (1
paragraph) description of their research to us no later than Friday,
    August 17th.

Looking forward to working with you.

    Best,

    Songqi

    Peter
