    Submission Deadline REMINDER: Monday, April 16th

    International Society for the Psychology of Science and Technology
    July 20-22, 2012 Pittsburgh, PA

    We apologize for multiple postings.

    We are pleased to request submissions for the 4th biennial conference
    (July 20-22, 2012) of the International Society for the Psychology of
    Science and Technology (ISPST) that will occur in Pittsburgh this
    summer. The 2012 ISPST conference is co-sponsored by the Psychology
    Department at Carnegie Mellon University and by the Learning Research
    and Development Center at The University of Pittsburgh.

    We strongly encourage conference submissions from students: We just
    received notification of sponsorship from the Cognitive Science
    Society to award a prize for Best Student Submission on a Cognitive
    Science Topic. Any student submitting on a cognitive science topic
    will be automatically considered for this award and the winner will
    receive $250 and a complimentary one-year membership to the Cognitive
    Science Society. We have generous NSF support for student travel
    funds. Questions about NSF stipends can be directed to Andrew Young
    (andrew.young1@gmail.com).

    Katy Börner, Indiana University Envisioning Science and Technology
    Clark Chinn, Rutgers University Promoting Epistemic Growth
    Iris Tabak, Ben Gurion University Objects, Subjects and Subjectivity:
    The Disciplinary Stance of Scientists and Learners
    Paul Thagard, University of Waterloo Eureka! Three Mechanisms that
    Explain Creative Consciousness

    Scholars from different countries representing a broad range of
    disciplines such as psychology, sociology, communication, history,
    sociology, philosophy, education, and computer science will share
    cutting-edge research on scientific thinking and the advancement of
    science and technology. Conference themes: formal science education,
    the development of scientific thinking skills, professional scientific
    practice, peer review, and related psychological processes. We also
    invite submissions about informal science learning for a special
    symposium and tour of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History that will
    be organized by Kevin Crowley.

    All quality submissions that fit the broad conference and society
    themes will be accepted as a talk or poster. If you have a question
    about the fit of your submission to the conference themes, please
