INSTRUCTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR (NON-TENURE TRACK)
The Labovitz School of Business and Economics at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for a full-time one-year term faculty position in the Department of Management Studies in the area of Organizational Behavior beginning August 27, 2012.
Approximately 2100 undergraduate and 70 graduate students are currently enrolled in the school's programs. Both the undergraduate and graduate programs are AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) - International accredited. There are currently 48 full-time faculty members in five academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance and Management Information Sciences, Marketing, and Management Studies. The School offers the Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA degrees. Regional outreach is accomplished primarily through activities of the School's Center for Economic Development and the Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching, service and depending on qualifications may have research responsibilities. The individual will teach courses in the areas of Organizational Behavior and Management (examples of elective classes include: Management History, Decision Making, Planning, Conflict and Negotiation, Motivation, Mood and Emotion, Cooperative Strategy, Project of Non-profit Management). Currently, the teaching and research loads are dependent on qualifications. For a candidate possessing a master's degree, the teaching load is currently seven courses per year, limited to four course preps, and there are no research expectations. For a candidate who is ABD or has a PhD, the teaching load is six courses per year, limited to three course preps, and the candidate is expected to engage in the creation and dissemination of knowledge in the area of Organizational Behavior through the publication of refereed articles in recognized journals, the presentation of papers, other acceptable channels and through one's teaching. The individual will be minimally responsible for advising undergraduate students and is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations.
Required Qualifications

(1) Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree in Organizational Behavior, Organizational Management, Industrial- Organizational Psychology, or an equivalent program from an accredited institution with substantive coursework in Organizational Behavior, or be ABD (with a minimum of two years of residency as a full-time doctoral student) or Organizational Behavior or Management (with substantive coursework in Organizational Behavior) from an AACSB- International accredited institution.

(2) If the applicant has a Master's degree and is not ABD or PhD in the Organizational Behavior discipline, the applicant must demonstrate that active involvement in his/her profession, which is in the primary teaching area, has been maintained since the time of the Masters degree completion and is sufficient to make the applicant "professionally qualified" as per LSBE's definition (visit https://lsbe.d.umn.edu/dean/aqpqdefinition.php).

(3) Applicants must exhibit abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation to teach effectively in the area of Organizational Behavior and Management related elective courses.

(4) Applicants must exhibit a willingness to fulfill service responsibilities to students, colleagues, the department, School, campus, and community.
Preferred Qualifications

(1) PhD from an AACSB-International accredited institution in Organizational Behavior. Those with a Management major or focus of study must have substantive coursework in Organizational Behavior.

(2) College-level teaching experience in Organizational Behavior and Management related elective courses. Demonstrate ability to teach elective courses at the undergraduate level to a diverse group of students.

(3) Evidence of the potential to conduct and disseminate knowledge in the area of Organizational Behavior.
