    Apologies for Cross Posting

    Good Afternoon,
I am emailing in order to request some help.
I am working on my dissertation and examining the topic of repairing damaged organizational trust. I am looking for empirical studies on organizational trust and organizational trust repair. I would greatly appreciate any information you are willing to share.

    Hello Joanne,
I suggest you look at Mayer, Davis, & Schoorman, 1995, AMR, sets the stage for building & repairing trust; Mayer & Davis, 1999, demonstrates actually building employee trust in management; Tomlinson & Mayer, 2008 AMR, looks at Attribution theory and how it effects rebuilding trust; Mayer, Bobko, Davis & Gavin, building trust in supervisors via use of power & influence tactics, Journal of Trust Research. How helpful any of this might be is likely dependent on how your define trust and trust repair. To repair do you need to see the whole cycle of decline and then rise, or can you assume something has hurt it and show building? I have other work that may be of help to you, but am aware that I am probably shooting past your target even now.
    Good luck,
    Roger Mayer

Have a look at Kramer's review of this literature in Academy of Management Annals. Dirks' special issue in AMR should provide you with a wealth of references as well.

    Hi Joanne,
I would encourage you to review the service recovery literature in
marketing. The trust repair and service recovery literatures start from
nearly the same point, and it would be nice for someone to make sense
out of the overlap. Hui Liao (your own department) has done work on
    service recovery (2007- JAP).

    Best wishes,

    Tim Munyon
