The Department of Management at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant/ associate professor in the area of Human Resource Management. The appointment begins in August 2012. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in human resource management. Courses offered by the department include organizational development, diversity, employment relations, compensation, research methods, staffing, and organizational behavior. On-going scholarly activity and publication in peer-reviewed journals is expected.
Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business is accredited by AACSB, and is one of the largest undergraduate business schools in the country with over 4,500 students. The HRM curriculum is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management. The Kalamazoo/ Southwest Michigan area is home to many Fortune 500 companies, such as Kellogg, Stryker, Herman Miller, Steelcase, Whirlpool, Eaton, and Pfizer, as well as two nationally recognized hospitals, providing ample opportunities to partner with firms in a variety of industries.
Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or Industrial Organizational Psychology completed by December 31, 2012, and teaching experience. Applicants should also have a strong potential for success in scholarly research. Review of applications will start on January 20, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.
