After 35 years of distinguished and dedicated service to the field of
intercultural relations, Emeritus Professor Dan Landis, Founding and Current
Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Intercultural Relations is
retiring at the end of 2011 and turning over the editorial duties to Professor Colleen Ward.
Therefore, 2 (possibly 3) Associate Editors are sought to serve for a
term of three years and to assist in working toward continuing and enhancing
IJIR's stature as a leading journal in the field.
The International Journal of Intercultural Relations is dedicated to
advancing knowledge and understanding of theory, practice, and research on
topics relating to intergroup relations including, but not limited to,
acculturation, intercultural communication, and cultural diversity in
education, organizations and society. The journal publishes original
research and contemporary reviews in six issues per annum. IJIR provides an
interdisciplinary forum for scholars in fields of psychology, management, communication,
sociology, and education.
Associate Editors should have a solid record of international publications,
breadth of knowledge of intercultural relations, a demonstrated ability to
exercise timely, clear, and fair judgments in difficult decision-making
circumstances, and good organizational skills. Expressions of Interest,
including a cv, will be accepted until 15 October, 2011.
In the interim, I am happy to respond to questions about the AE role. I can
