  • 1.  Searching for studies on work centrality

I am forwarding this on behalf of my student. Apologies for cross posting:

I am a graduate student in Industrial/Organizational psychology at Bowling Green State University. For my master's thesis I am conducting a meta-analysis of work centrality and related constructs. As part of study collection, I am calling for any published or unpublished research related to work centrality.

In this meta-analysis I am considering the following scales to be measuring work centrality.
    -       Work Involvement (Kanungo, 1982)
    -       Work Involvement (War, Cook, & Wall, 1979)
    -       Work Role Centrality (Mannheim, 1975)
    -       Work Centrality (Meaning of Work, 1987)
    -       Work Centrality (Paullay, Alliger, & Stone-Romero, 1994)
    • Centrality of Work (Miller, Woehr, & Hudspeth, 2001)

If you know of any research related to work centrality that may have been overlooked by other study collection procedures (e.g. psycINFO, Social Science Citation Index) please contact me at jkostek@bgsu.edu.

    Thank you,

    John,

Here are a few articles that relate to work centrality. You may also search for Lodahl and Kejner reference (it is quite old and I don't remember the year of publication) on job involvement. Their scale has been used to measure work centrality.

    Good luck with your research.

    Baba

    Dear Scott,

Below are three papers which colleagues and I published several years ago, which I think may be relevant to your student's meta-analysis.

    With best wishes,

    Mike O'Driscoll
