Two students and I have papers that may be of interest to people organizing symposia for SIOP and are looking for additional contributions:
1. Team-reward fit: This empirical study introduces the notion that team compensation (team-based or individually-based) should match the team's level of individualism/collectivism. Teams whose compensation matched experienced greater satisfaction, identification with the team, and less conflict than teams with a mismatch. It could fit with a symposium on teams, fit, or culture.
2. Informer credibility: This empirical study examined the extent to which decision makers are influenced by external signs of credibility from those giving recommendations. Results indicate that external credibility matters, especially when the decision is not urgent; the effect goes away for urgent decisions. It could fit with a symposium on decision-making, advice-taking, or leadership events.
Please contact me if you think either of our papers might make a positive contribution to your symposium!
