With apologies for cross posting:
We look forward to seeing you all in San Antonio. Hope you can join us...
Friday, Aug 12 2011 8:00AM - 10:00AM
San Antonio Convention Center in Room 201
Measurement is one of the principal activities of science (DeVellis, 2003). Invalid or inaccurate measurement undermines our ability to understand phenomena and can potentially lead to misleading or incorrect conclusions. This workshop aims to address problems in scale development by helping participants develop validated scales rather than simply teaching the theory. There will be some coverage of the theoretical underpinnings of scale development but the session will principally centre around the practicalities of scale development; for example the practicalities of establishing content validity.
Please do bring along any current scale development projects you might have to use as teaching examples. If you are not currently developing any scales then do not worry, there will be plenty of 'hands on' activities to participate in. We very much look forward to seeing you first thing on Friday 12th.
