Here is a summary of responses to my request for help in finding a robust measure for employee engagement. Many messages were just request for sharing the information I get.
There is no 'robust' measure for employee engagement at the moment. There are – as you probably know – loads of measures from consultancies and a few from academia. At this stage of the research in this field the best advice would be to find out from your sample what engagement means for them. The measure that I have found comes closest (but does not fully represent) engagement is Schaufeli et al.'s (2004, 2006, 2008) Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES).
