Researchers in many disciplines leverage the insights of behavioral science to understand and mitigate society's biggest challenges. These researchers do work that is diverse, including studying nudges that intervene to change important behaviors, making theoretical developments that help shed light on the root causes of important problems, and developing innovations that change behavior to create social value. These scholars include psychologists, behavioral decision researchers, behavioral economists, management scholars, marketing researchers, political scientists, sociologists, and others. Our goal is to strengthen, enlarge, support and legitimize this area of research.
In the workshop, behaviors and decisions we will discuss include (but are not limited to): education, ethics, health, voting, energy, social media, and charitable giving. Methodologically, we will focus on field experiments, though other field research methods may be touched upon as well.
Participants will arrive on the evening of August 6th, and the workshop take place all day on August 7th, then 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on August 8th.
