ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - BUSINESS & ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
The College of Idaho invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor appointment in Business Administration with an emphasis in general organizational management (production and operations/management science) beginning August 15, 2013. This position will target professional preparation at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching within an integrated liberal arts framework and our innovative PEAK curriculum. A doctorate in business or in a closely related field is preferred. College teaching experience and industry experience is highly desirable.
Areas of Need: We are seeking a candidate who can best fill some of the following teaching areas in order of departmental need: production and operations, management science, management information systems, small business management. Please address your strengths in any of the teaching areas that pertain to your experiences and interests.
Responsibilities: A nine-month position, which will include flexibility in teaching undergraduate business and management courses. Typical course load is 3-1-3. Additional duties include academic advising, scholarship, service to the college and department, and contribution to accreditation and reauthorization processes.
Qualifications:
· Doctorate in business or closely related field preferred.
· College teaching experience and industry experience highly desirable.
· Commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting
· Collegiality and flexibility to work closely in a small department
· Innovation and adaptability in using technology to achieve learning outcomes
