Hi,
A friend of mine is working on developing internal coaching capabilities at
Best Buy. She has limited access to research and could really benefit from
the coaching experts on this listserv.
Please find her questions below.
Any suggestions or point in the right direction are greatly appreciated.
Best,
/Nic Erhardt

We are trying to build an internal coaching capability within Best Buy. Our
VP would like us to build a couple things into a business case for this,
including
Why people seek/use coaching
Ways to measure the efficacy of coaching
Is there any data that shows the ROI of coaching
Is there data that shows the impact of coaching on the expat
experience (in leaving from and coming back to the home country)
Is there data on coaching impact on executive on-boarding? Does
coaching help them ramp up or add value more quickly?
I think the questions are as follows:
1. When it comes to transformational coaching, what are the best
methods to assess and validate behavioral changes? What kinds of models or
tools would be most effective?
2. Is there any data that shows any kind of ROI on coaching? This
might not just be about straight financials, but might tie to
increase/decrease in leadership retention, employee relations issues,
employee engagement, productivity, etc.
3. What data exists to show benefits of coaching for expats or
short-term global assignees? What kind of information best serves to prove
the impact of coaching on those individuals?
4. What analysis currently exists to show maintained savings from
in-sourcing and investing in a coaching capability?
5. What is the impact of coaching on an executives ability to
on-board into a new company or role?
