I am posting this request for a student of mine, who is looking for a
last-minute addition to a symposium she is putting together on executive
coaching. Below is a brief description of the symposium topic. If anyone
is interested, and willing to put together their write-up by the end of
this upcoming weekend, please contact Trishna Patel at
    tgp0004@auburn.edu.

    Symposium Topic:
We are hoping to set up a symposium on Executive Coaching at SIOP 2011.
This is an open call to anyone with relevant expertise in the matter to
give a short presentation on the topic. The symposium will be entitled
“A Closer Look at the Nature and Path of Executive Coaching.”
Currently, there is a lot of dispute about the role and functions of an
executive coach, as well as the current trends and future directions.
There is also little practical information about what path (academic and
practical) a young professional should take to become an executive
coach. This is where we believe experienced members can contribute; it
is our hope to gain a better understanding of the practice of an
executive coach, as well as unearth any research topics that you feel
have not been covered extensively. The latter will give students and
budding professionals some direction with regard to preparation for
    coaching as a career.

    Best,
    Malissa
