Posting on behalf of a colleague.

    My name is Bryan Dawson.

I am a 4th year IO Psychology graduate student at the University of Georgia. A colleague and I are attempting to put together a SIOP symposium revolving around research and field experiences in diversity training. Our goal is to have 4 presenters, two of whom(Myself, and Dr. Loriann Roberson) will discuss the extant literature regarding what types of diversity training work, what types don't and how we might further study the effects of diversity training in academia. We would like the other two presenters(Dr. Bernardo Ferdman, TBA) to give a practitioner's viewpoint of diversity training in organizations, what they have seen work and what could be improved. Our hope is that through these two  viewpoints we can expose some common ground and perhaps foster ideas for future implementations of diversity training in organizations. Our secondary aim is to further bridge the gap between researcher and practitioner as well as providing implications for the field in terms of diversity training best practices.

We are currently looking for a Practitioner who is experience in diversity training who would like to be a part of our session.

We are inviting you to present as one of our two practitioners. Each participant would need to draft a 750 word (maximum)  summary  detailing their contribution. My colleague, Matthew Goren, and Dr. Thomas would serve as co-chairs, and the audience will be our discussant. If you would like to/have the time to be apart of our session we would be greatly honored

If you would like to talk about your experiences regarding reactions to diversity training during your consulting experience of what was well received/poorly received, or any other ideas for a presentation we would be honored to have you as apart of our symposium . If you cannot but know someone else whom you feel would be suitable for the practitioner role please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Bryan Dawson
