Colleagues:
We would like to invite all those interested in research in India to
attend an exciting session at AoM Montreal. At this caucus, entitled
"Maximizing Research Impact via Indian Academy of Management," we will
report on the progress with IAoM, as well as discuss ways to further
energize the research community.
The purpose of this proposed caucus is to follow-up, and build, on the
momentum generated at the tremendously successful caucuses we held at
AOM 2008 and 2009. There, we held discussions with colleagues engaged in
doing research in the Indian context, and those who are keen to pursue
such research. Since then, the IAoM has successfully conducted its
first conference (December 2009), the membership has grown, and we have
generated tremendous interest in the research community.
We are convinced that the growing interest in India is indeed timely and
most welcome, as India is now considered the second most important
emerging market (after China) in the world. Indeed, the World Bank
forecasts that by 2020, India could become the world’s fourth largest
economy.
Please make every effort to attend. The session will be held on Monday,
Aug 9th, from 1:15PM - 2:45PM at Le Palais Des Congres in 522A.
