    With the usual apologies for cross-postings, we would like to encourage you to attend the following symposium at AoM Montreal (Sponsored by OB, HR, MED):

    Exploring Managerial Effectiveness through Interpersonal Skills (#1119)

    Purpose/Abstract:

    Interpersonal skills are a key feature of management education and managerial effectiveness, yet business school curricula and management scholarship have focused largely on the development of technical skills. The purpose of this symposium is to bring together a set of papers that shed light on i) how to assess interpersonal skills, ii) the outcomes of interpersonal skills in organizations, and iii) the relevance of interpersonal skills in management education. The symposium covers topics that are of significant interest to management scholars and practitioners, including managing challenging interpersonal situations in the workplace (Lopes), how to teach interpersonal skills in management education (Maellero), and the nomological network of managerial interpersonal skills (Beenen, Muse, & Pichler).
