Hello everyone,
I am creating a follow-up book to Online Interviews in Real Time called Cases in Online Interview Research. It will be published by Sage Publications.
Cases in Online Interview Research will advance the theoretical and conceptual foundations of online interview research. This edited volume and include a very selective collection of cases from researchers who have conducted structured to unstructured online interviews using a variety of qualitative methodologies and mixed methods approaches with data collection from text-based, multi-channel meeting, videoconference and immersive technologies. Contributors will be asked to construct the chapter in the manner of a case study, in order to maximize its instructional potential. Six to eight cases will be included in the book.
Each case will be followed by a critique from the editor, analyzing and explaining the researcher's study in the context of the principles and models drawn from the editor's work. Additionally, each contributor will be invited to provide a thoughtful peer discussion of another's chapter. Thus each case will be followed by at least two different critiques. A final chapter will aim to pull together common themes and issues.
Cases in Online Interview Research will offer significant, multi-disciplinary insight into emerging e-research approaches. The structure of the book will model critical thinking and review in an effort to stimulate further discussion.
Proposal Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners interested in participating as a contributor are invited to submit a 1 to 2 page manuscript proposal clearly explaining the intention and online interview methods of the proposed case. Research from any discipline, or interdisciplinary research, is welcome -social and behavioral sciences, business and organizational studies, education, arts and creative disciplines, science and environmental studies. Please submit a Word or PDF document to jsalmons@vision2lead.com by June 15.
Upon acceptance of your proposal, you will have until October 1, 2010 to prepare your chapter of 4,000-5,000 words. Guidelines for preparing your paper and terms and definitions will be sent to you upon acceptance of your proposal. Authors of accepted chapters will then have a further opportunity to refine their work, based upon the comments of reviewers and the editor. Contributing authors will be asked to offer a critique of another case for the book. The critiques will be due December 1.
Each contributing author (or team of authors) will receive a book credit of $250. from Sage Publications and one copy of the finished book.
