Hi,
I'm looking to incorporate the work of Bolino (1999; full citation below) into one of my projects. In this case, an anecdote exemplifying the type of "good acting" he described would be very useful. After a lot of "googling" and other searching, I have come up with nothing.
If you have any published examples of cooperative or contributive workplace behaviors done for the same of impression management that I could recount and cite, please let me know.
A perfect example, would include some sort of resentment from coworkers who know the difference between the private and public conduct of the person in question.
For those unfamiliar with Bolino's work, he made a case that some manifestations of OCB may be merely "acting" or other forms of impression management intended to win favor with other workers (e.g., the boss).
