Hi all,
First, thank you Susan and others at Stanford for this excellent resource. I am already incorporating some of these cases in my classes!
As a follow up question...I am searching for specific resources (preferably a video clip/lecture) on appreciative inquiry and/or chaos theory. Is anyone aware of specific areas in which I might find these resources?
Thank you!

Subject: [OB-LIST] Stanford Video Case Vignettes and Teaching Notes Available - FREE
Fellow Colleagues,
For the past several years, professors at Stanford GSB have been using short video case vignettes designed by Charles O'Reilly to create very engaging discussions with the students on a wide range of topics ranging from Management to Accounting. Having had great success with them, we would like to share them with you to use in your classes. These video case vignettes, with accompanying teaching notes, are now available to all academics for FREE through the Center for Leadership Development and Research at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
The videos are about five minutes in length and capture real leaders talking about significant challenges they have faced, decisions they have made, and lessons they have learned from the experiences.
The collection of videos is available at no cost to Academics. They are also available for corporate use now. As an academic, you just have to register through the website at: www.LeadershipinFocus.net
The videos are organized by topic:
- Taking Charge
- Difficult Conversations
- Vision, Values, and Culture
- Motivating Teams
- Making Ethical Decisions
- Leading Change
- Mergers and Acquisitions
- Diversity
- Developing Leaders
- Becoming a Leader
The videos are each accompanied by a Teaching Guide and Teaching Notes that offer background, academic support references, stimulating discussion questions, suggested role plays, writing exercise, group work, and oral presentations. They help make class preparation quick and easy.
The portfolio includes leaders who have faced significant challenges (e.g., turn-arounds, firing employees, combat in Iraq). Many of the leaders are current and former CEOs as well as military officers and leaders of non-profit organizations.
You can download all of the videos and teaching notes directly from the website. If you prefer to order printed teaching notes and a DVD you also have that option. If you have any questions on the videos or how to use them, please contact us at leadershipinfocus@gsb.stanford.edu.
We hope you will find them helpful!
Susan
