    Hi Folks:

As I Doctoral student in I/O psychology, I would like to get your recommendation on "MUST HAVE" books for my personal library.

These would be the books that you feel no respectible I/O psychology doctoral student should be without.

Thanks in advance for your help.

One that I think is essential, but which I only discovered later in my program is:

Multilevel Theory, Research, and Methods in Organizations: Foundations, Extensions, and New Directions
Katherine Klein, & Steve Kozlowski (Eds.) 2000 Jossey-Bass.

    John Paul (J.P.) Stephens, Ph.D.

    Jim,

You have received a very good number of great suggestions.  I would add three books by the same author, which are not too commons but I believe they are my "new" classics:  The author is Peter B. Vaill, and the books are "Managing as a Performing Art: New Ideas for a World of Chaotic Change" (1989); "Learning as a Way of Being: Strategies for Survival in a World of Permanent White Water," (1996); and "Spirited Leading and Learning: Process Wisdom for a New Age," (1998).  All of these books were published by Jossey-Bass, Inc.

    Thanks,

    Ivan
