    Dear colleagues,

This might be an overly broad inquiry– Could any of you provide me with some literature linking career with personal identity? Thanks much!

    Yongmei:

We are in the process of analyzing some data linking the Big 5 to role identification (job, career, calling). Be happy to share those results with you once we have finished our analyses.

    Dear Yongmei,

The dualistic model of passion includes an aspect of identity with work which might be of interest to you.  The first book chapter on the topic was published in 2003 and is available (for personal use) at: http://www.er.uqam.ca/nobel/r26710/LRCS/papers/125.pdf

    The reference is:

Vallerand, R.J., & Houlfort, N. (2003). Passion at work: Toward a new conceptualization. Dans D. Skarlicki, S., Gilliland, D. Steiner (Eds.), Research in Social Issues in Management (vol. 3, pp. 175-204). Information Age Publishing Inc.

Other paper on passion for work have also been published since and can be found on Dr Robert Vallerand's website at UQAM.

Best of luck with your research,

    Dear Colleagues,

A couple of days ago I asked for references on research linking career and identity. I've put together information I gathered in a word file to share with those of you who are interested. Many thanks to everyone who kindly provided me with the information! This is very helpful!

    Best regards,
    Yongmei
