POSTDOCTORAL APPOINTMENT in Organizational Behavior, University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business, Management Department. A two-year postdoctoral appointment will be available beginning Fall 2010. We are looking for a strong candidate with a doctoral degree in the social sciences. The position will entail the opportunity to carry out research (including access to lab time and participant hours) and to work with faculty on research projects. The position will also entail teaching in our business program. The University of Utah values candidates who have experience working in settings with students from diverse backgrounds, and who possess a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for historically underrepresented students.

The Management Department includes both strategy and organizational behavior faculty.  The organizational behavior faculty includes Bryan Bonner, Arthur Brief, Kristina Diekmann, Gerardo Okhuysen, Kristin Smith-Crowe, and Harris Sondak. While united by a concern with the psychology of organizational life, the group's interests are nevertheless quite varied and include ethical decision making in organizations, prejudice at work, negotiations, workplace justice, group decision making processes, the role of time in groups and organizations, self-defeating organizational behaviors, intra-group conflict, and the display of sexuality at work. This work is published in various top-tier outlets.

The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains. This location offers excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, including easy access to the Rocky Mountains, the red rock country of the Colorado Plateau, and eight national parks including Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks. Salt Lake City is the center of a metropolitan area with a population of approximately one million residents and has extensive arts and cultural activities and a major international airport.
