    Hello All,

My colleagues and I are conducting a study of career expectations and experiences and are looking for a company that can host an online survey for us and recruit an appropriate sample given the parameters of our sampling frame.  I would greatly appreciate any advice and/or recommendations you may have regarding outsourced survey data collection.  Canadian companies are expecially desirable for our purposes.

    Thank you and Happy Holidays.

    Hello:

I would highly recommend Quantrics.com.  They hosted my research and have very powerful support and data analysis tools available to academic researchers.  If your going to have a large population that may stress the servers or need rock solid data security, Qualtrics is one of the best solutions out there.

Plus I think they are also a Canadian company.

    Happy Holidays,

We found Zoomerang easy to use with a short learning curve.
Even use it for polling for hiring comments after candidate faculty presentations and interviews.
Plus it gives you a good record.

Surveymonkey.com has worked well for me and is competitively priced. Merry Christmas and the rest!

For survey recruitment, I have used both Zoomerang's Technology Panel
    and Syracuse's Study Response Project.

The ZoomTech panel is positioned as panelists who are all in
technology related jobs and there are 4 main types you can recruit,
for example you can ask only for managers or only for developers. The
panelist responses each cost between US $35-55 if I remember
correctly. The general Zoomerang panelist recruitment is much less
expensive - maybe $15-25 per panelist.

The Syracuse Study Response Project costs even less, and again you can
specify demographics for your sample set:

    Hi Sean,

I know several of my colleagues who had a very good experience with Institute of Social Research at York. Apparently they have a good collection of very experienced and well-known researchers.

    Happy Holidays,

If your university IT unit is able to host the survey software, I can recommend Limesurvey.org (there are also commercial LimeSurvey services available at a site like procapio.com). I have worked with several solutions, and Limesurvey offer more options (email invitations, follow-up, conditional questions etc.),  than most commercial solutions. Limesurvey is free, periodically upgraded, open source and easy to install and use.

    Happy Holidays,

    Max
