I was wondering if there is any work integrating Deci and Ryan's self-determination theory with control theories of motivation, such as Carver and Scheier's or Jeff Vancouver's. One thing I'm interested in is how the control theory explanation of self-regulation accounts for the favorable effects of autonomous motivation. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
