Hi everyone,

I wanted to remind you about an Aspen Institute web conference coming up later this week that will address an often-overlooked topic of growing importance in the world economy: low-wage work and workers.

"Low-Wage Work in the Coming Economy" will feature presentations by Stacy Blake-Beard, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Simmons School of Management and Ellen Ernst Kossek, University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University's Graduate School of Labor & Industrial Relations. Mark Popovich, Senior Program Officer at the Hitachi Foundation (a major funder of efforts to improve labor market outcomes for low-wage workers) will offer opening remarks, and Maureen Scully, Assistant Professor of Management at UMASS-Boston, will moderate. The web conference is free of charge and will be held on Friday, November 20 at 12 noon Eastern time. To RSVP, please contact Chad Ayotte at chad.ayotte@aspeninst.org.

I hope you can join us to discuss this important topic, and to consider some of the ways in which it can be incorporated into the business school classroom!
