    Old Dominion University is hiring for two positions in the Department of Psychology. Our Industrial/Organizational psychology program is growing! We are seeking an associate or full professor (or exceptional assistant professor) to join our current faculty team of Debra Major, Donald Davis, Karin Orvis, and Richard Landers.     FACULTY POSITIONS IN INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY AND HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY

     

    The Old Dominion University Psychology Department invites applications for two faculty positions to begin August 2010. These positions are expected to be filled at the Professor or Associate Professor level, but exceptional junior applicants with peer-reviewed grant support will be considered.

     

    HEALTH psychology with an emphasis in public health, occupational health, behavioral medicine, clinical or social health psychology;

     

    INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL psychology, open with regard to research interests.

     
    Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology and a demonstrated record of an outstanding research program, as evidenced by publications and peer-reviewed research funding, and excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

     

    The Psychology Department currently includes 24 faculty members, offers four doctoral programs (Ph.D. in Applied Experimental, Human Factors, and Industrial/Organizational and Psy.D. in Clinical) and a terminal MS in General Experimental Psychology and has approximately 120 graduate students and 900 undergraduate majors. The Department is supported by peer-reviewed grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, Office of Naval Research, NASA, and the VA Department of Health and has active collaborative relationships with Eastern Virginia Medical School; the National Center for Collaboration in Medical Modeling and Simulation; the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center; the Naval Health Center at Portsmouth; Norfolk State University; and the Human Performance Center of the US Navy.
