Please see the attached Call for Proposals for the American Orchestras
Summit at the University of Michigan, from January 26-28, 2010. This
may be of interest in terms of:
- how organizational theory can be applied to better understanding
cultural forms
- how embedded institutions shape and are shaped by their communities
- an interdisciplinary perspective on how institutions handle
environmental demands
Please consider submitting a proposal abstract of 500 words or less by
November 8, 2009 to
orchestrasummit@umich.edu. This should be a
landmark occasion for bringing together organizational and music
scholars to better understand a key aspect of American culture.
