The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School invites
applications for a junior (or mid-career) tenure-track position in the
area of Organization Theory in the Department of Management &
Organization. The NUS Business School is part of a major comprehensive
research university with 28,000 students from 80 different countries.
The business school is mid-sized with approximately 110 faculty members.
As an internationally ranked and recognized institution, the school has
extensive academic and industry links to China, India and the rest of
the world.
We are seeking individuals with a strong commitment to and ability for
excellent scholarly research. NUS provides a supportive environment
including competitive salaries/benefits, generous research grants,
reduced teaching loads, and a collegial environment. The research
interests of our faculty in the M&O department include both micro- and
macro-topics. Our faculty members with a more macro focus (e.g., Albert
Teo, Chi-Nien Chung, and Sangchan Park) are looking at various issues
pertaining to business groups in Asia, ecology of organizations, and
diffusion of new institutions. Recent work from our department has been
published in such journals as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy
of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization
Science, and Strategic Management Journal.
Applicants should possess a PhD from a recognized university and have
outstanding research potential, as indicated by top-tier journal
publications and work in progress (commensurate with rank of
application). In addition to research capability, applicants should also
have a strong interest and competence in teaching. The NUS Business
School offers undergraduate, MBA, doctoral, and executive programs. It
consistently ranks among the top business schools in Asia and has AACSB
accreditation. Salaries are competitive with North American schools. In
addition to a relocation allowance and subsidized accommodation, leave
for vacation, research, and consulting is also provided.
English is the principal language of instruction at the University and
the official language for business in Singapore. Completed applications
received by 15 October 2009, will receive full consideration. Please
submit application materials (cover letter, CV, research and teaching
statements, sample publications, and reference letters) to Chi-Nien
Chung (
bizccn@nus.edu.sg).
