Subject: Seeking a Symposium Organizer on Succession Planning Practice at SIOP 2010

Dear Liu-qin,Please see if this is ok. If ok, can you help to post my message at OB or HR listserv. Many thanks. Carl
I am writing to ask if anyone is organizing a symposium on succession planning and needs additional member for SIOP 2010 presentation.
I am a practitioner in I/O psychology with previous background in academic. I have recently done a mini-survey on succession planning in China with data collected from about 30 companies (including MNCs and local firms). I found succession planning is less frequently adopted in local Chinese firms than MNCs. Obviously, the maturity (or history) of the firms and the size may matter. However, according to our observation, organizational culture including core values and basic assumptions in the mind of founders in private Chinese firms is one of the key determinants. I can prepare a summary for a symposium in the next few days. I have also had a plan to do a more rigorous study on this subject.
If someone there is interested, please email me and we can provide more information about this research.
Best Regards,
Carl

Have you tried to send an announcement at OB or HR listserv?
If you are not enlisted for now, you could forward your announcement to me, and I could forward it to the listservs.
Lemme know...
Best luck!
