Dear Colleagues Interested in Environmental Sustainability:
If you are a paid member of the Academy of Management (AOM), you may have heard about a new social networking platform for AOM members, called AOM Connect. This new service is offered as a tool to support the development of electronically-mediated knowledge communities for AOM members.
If you or someone you know has an interest in scholarship at the intersection of workforce management and environmental sustainability, please read on.
I recently created an AOM Connect community called "Green HRM," which I hope attracts people from a wide range of divisions, including the OB Division. We are just getting started, so recruiting members is the first step. If you might be interested in joining this group, please visit the site. There are not many resources available yet, but that will change as we find and engage interested members. If you have a few minutes to explore and experiment, here's what to do:
Option A:
1. Go directly to the AOM CONNECT at http://connect.aomonline.org/ and sign in.
2. Follow the steps given for First Time visitors.
3. When you get to Step 3, click on "join or visit groups". This will take you to a page that shows "avatars" for all existing groups. Note that you may need to scroll down on your screen to see the groups listed.
4. Look for the green square with a howling wolf, which is the avatar for the Green HRM group. Click on Green HRM, and it will take you to the site for this group.
Option B:
1. Go to the AOM Home page at http://www.aomonline.org and sign in as you normally do.
2. Look for the AOM Connect logo/link, and click on it. Then proceed as described above.
If you have any resources related to Green HRM that you can share with us-including publications, conference papers, working papers, interesting website links, announcements about relevant journals or conferences-please post the information to the GREEN HRM site.
Not interested? Perhaps you know someone else who might be! If so, please help us find like-minded colleagues by spreading the word. Thanks! I hope to meet you in cyberspace soon.
