Hi,
I don't know of any practitioner oriented articles on cohesion, but
this academic piece (citation below) is a really useful initial
overview of the topic and the ways it has been measured in different
studies (especially as it relates to team performance).
Cohesion is a complicated construct because it's generally believed to
be made up of two separate components: task cohesion and social
cohesion. Also, there is little agreement in the research about
whether cohesion is the pre-cursor that leads to beneficial team team
outcomes, or whether because a team is already doing well that
cohesion is produced.
