    TENURE-TRACK POSITION:
    ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in
    ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR / HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
    OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY
     
            The Department of Management of the College of Business & Public Administration at Old Dominion University invites applications from qualified candidates for one (1) tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate level in Organizational Behavior and/or Human Resources.  Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, research resulting in scholarly articles, advising undergraduate and/or graduate students, and service to the University, community, and profession.  Qualifications for the position include:  (1) an earned doctorate in Business Administration from an AACSB accredited institution, with primary areas of expertise in Organizational Behavior and/or Human Resource Management; (2) evidence of effective teaching; (3) evidence of research potential.  Preference will be given to candidates with refereed publications in the field and/or presentations at national and international conferences. 
     
            Old Dominion University (ODU) is located in Norfolk, VA, about 200 miles southeast of Washington, D.C.  Founded in 1930 as the Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary (W&M), ODU separated from W&M in 1962 and became an independent institution.  In 1969, ODU obtained University status as one of only 101 public institutions with a Carnegie/Doctoral Research-Extensive distinction.  The University has since emerged as a major research institution, with research grants and contracts valued at more than $87 million annually, and business and research initiatives that contribute more than $600 million annually to the economy.  As a teaching institution, ODU offers 70 baccalaureate degrees, 60 master's degrees, 36 doctoral degrees, and 2 educational specialist degrees.  With 717 full-time and 449 part-time faculty, ODU serves a total enrollment of 23,086 -- 17,330 undergraduates and 5,756 graduate students, 1,400 International students from 106 countries, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 17 to 1.  The 188-acre main campus is located close to downtown Norfolk and the Norfolk Naval Station, the largest naval base in the world.  Nearby Virginia Beach, the largest city in Virginia, has 36 miles of some of the best beaches on the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay and is a major year-round tourist center on the East Coast.  Located nearby are historic Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg.
     
            The College of Business & Public Administration is fully accredited by AACSB – The International Association for Management Education; has more than 3,700 students enrolled in bachelors', masters' and doctoral programs; and is one of six colleges on campus that provides state-of-the-art instructional technology.  The Department of Management has a collegial and supportive environment, comprised of 12 tenured or tenure-track faculty and 3 full-time lecturers with expertise in the following general areas: Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, Strategic Management, and International Business.  The Department is actively involved in instruction at the undergraduate level as well as the graduate level (MBA program and doctoral program).
