    Greetings OB list!

We are finally getting around to compiling a Doctoral Reading List for our Doctoral Management students.  If applicable, I was hoping that some of you might be willing to share your program's OB reading list.   You can send it directly to me at matthews@utpa.edu

I'd be glad to compile and share with those interested.

    A BIG thanks in advance,

    linda

Below is the reply I offered when Linda posted the same request on the HR Listserv.

This may be a good time to raise some concern about doctoral reading lists. In my admittedly limited experience, these lists tend to become enormous documents that can distract doctoral students from more important goals. Certainly, doctoral students need to be familiar with a number of important theories and paradigms, and if this is not happening in their classes, then a reading list might be appropriate. But a major goal of doctoral education, in my opinion, is teaching students to construct theory. That goal is aided by having students immerse themselves in specific literatures. Forcing them to be comprehensive, if that's the purpose of the list, may be less helpful in achieving that goal.
